Aura and Chakra – What’s the Connection?

April 6, 2016 by dave

This article is written according to people’s belief in metaphysics.

It’s not uncommon for people to use the words aura and chakras interchangeably. In fact, people without the right understanding of these concepts often consider these two distinct energies to be one and the same. That’s a misconception. Auras and chakras are quite different, even if they’re connected to each other. It’s important to understand these two concepts clearly so that you get the best benefit from that knowledge. Here’s a brief guide to both chakra and auras that would clear the confusion.

What’s an Aura?

An aura is deeply connected to a person’s personality, their mood, their thoughts, and general well-being. It is fluid and will alter slightly based on how you’re feeling on a particular day. Of course, the dominant color rarely changes unless you undergo significant changes in your personality.

For example, if you’re a generally cheerful person, your aura will reflect that. It doesn’t matter if you feel distinctly cheerless when your aura is photographed, your normal personality will be the dominant force. Your cheerlessness would be apparent in the form of disturbances and dark patches in your aura, but it wouldn’t be the dominant aura.

What is Chakra?

Chakras are almost like gates within your body that direct the flow of energy through it. There are 7 chakras in your body and each of them play a significant role. These chakras are:

  • Root chakra or Muladhara is usually red in color.
  • Sacral chakra or Svadhisthana is generally orange in color.
  • Solar plexus chakra or Manipura is usually yellow in color.
  • Heart chakra or Anahata is typically green in color.
  • Throat chakra or Vishuddha is usually blue in color.
  • Third eye chakra or Anja is generally blue in color.
  • Crown chakra or Sahaswara is usually violet in color.

As you might have noticed, the chakras seem to represent the colors of the visible light spectrum. These chakras have a fixed color and purpose. They rarely change. Yes, they can be unbalanced or weak, but their character and distinguishing property remains the same. The chakras also perform a fixed function. For example, the crown chakra acts as a connection between your mind and body to the spirit and the metaphysical. This purpose won’t change. This is the main difference between aura and chakras.

How are Chakras and Auras Related?

These two forces do influence each other. If the chakra is unbalanced, you will be able to spot the disturbance in the aura. If the aura is imbalanced, the chakras would be impacted by it. They are two aspects of the same coin. Chakra is internal while an aura is external and will radiate out of your body, forming a visible halo around you. Just like the environment surrounding you can affect your health, the aura surrounding your body would affect the chakra within it.

If you get your aura and chakras evaluated, you can identify imbalances and look for potential ways to balance them. Solutions to clear problems with auras and chakras are usually similar.
